Kate Buesser
Kate Buesser (born April 23, 1989, in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire) is an American women's ice hockey forward with the Connecticut Whale of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). At the NCAA level, she accumulated 92 points with the Harvard Crimson women's ice hockey program from 2008 to 2012. Playing career CWHL Buesser competed with the Boston Blades and captured the 2013 Clarkson Cup championship. In 2014, she would appear in the finals of the 2014 Clarkson Cup with the Blades, only to be defeated in overtime by the Toronto Furies. Wolfeboro, New Hampshire
Wolfeboro is a town in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 6,416 at the 2020 census. A resort area situated beside Lake Winnipesaukee, Wolfeboro includes the village of Wolfeboro Falls. History The town was granted by colonial Governor Benning Wentworth in 1759 to four young men of Portsmouth, and named "Wolfeborough" in honor of English General James Wolfe, who had been victorious at the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in 1759 during the French and Indian War. Kaleigh Fratkin
Kaleigh Fratkin (born March 24, 1992) is a Canadian women's ice hockey player with the Boston Pride of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). The third-longest tenured player and leading scorer among defenders in PHF history, she was the first Canadian player to sign a contract in the league, is a four-time PHF all-star, and is a two-time PHF Defender of the Year in 2020 and 2021. She was also a member of the Boston Pride roster that captured the 2021 and 2022 Isobel Cup. Previous to the joining the NWHL, she won the Clarkson Cup in 2015 and was the first girl to play boys' midget AAA hockey in British Columbia. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. Shannon Doyle
Shannon Turner (born March 6, 1992) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player. She served as captain of the Connecticut Whale of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Playing career NCAA At the NCAA level, Turner accumulated 25 points with the Colgate Raiders women's ice hockey program from 2010 to 2012, and 53 points with the Boston University Terriers women's ice hockey program over the course of two seasons, 2012–13 and 2014–15 (she missed the 2013-14 season due to injury). During her time with the Boston University Terriers, the program would win four consecutive Hockey East championships (2012–15). In the aftermath of the 2015 Hockey East tournament, Turner joined Kayla Tutino and captain Marie-Philip Poulin on the All-Tournament Team.
