Katakhal is a town and railway station in Hailakandi tehsil of Hailakandi district in the Indian States and territories of India, state of Assam. Hailakandi district is one of the 33 districts of Assam state in north-eastern India. It makes up the Barak Valley alongside Cachar and Karimganj. The Lumding–Sabroom section is a railway line under Lumding railway division of Northeast Frontier Railway zone of Indian Railways. It is a single broad-gauge track from Lumding in Nagaon District of Assam state to Agartala in West Tripura district of Tripura state.
