is a city in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. , the city had an estimated population of 353,214 in 162,210 households and a population density of 3200 persons per km². The total area of the city is . Charles Hugh Alison
Charles Hugh Alison (5 March 1883 – 20 October 1952) was a British golf course architect. He worked predominantly with Harry Colt, John Morrison, and Alister MacKenzie, in 1928 forming Colt, Alison & Morrison Ltd. Life and career Alison was born in Preston, Lancashire. He attended Malvern College in Worcestershire before going up to New College, Oxford, to study history, law and divinity. He represented the university at golf in 1903 and 1904, but did not finish his degree. He also played four first-class cricket matches for Somerset County Cricket Club between 1902 and 1905 and played Minor Counties cricket for Buckinghamshire in 1911 and 1912. Alison served in both World War I and World War II decoding ciphers. Asian Amateur Championship
The Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship is an annual amateur golf tournament. It is played at various locations throughout Asia-Pacific. It is organized by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) and was first played in 2009. It was organized in conjunction with the Masters Tournament and The R&A, organizers of The Open Championship. The winner receives an invitation to the Masters and The Open Championship (beginning in 2018). The winner and runner-up had previously gained entry to International Final Qualifying for the Open from 2009 to 2017. In 2011, the winner also receives an invitation to the Asian Tour's season ending Thailand Golf Championship. Golf At The 2020 Summer Olympics
Golf at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan featured two events, individual competitions for men and women. Golf returned to the Olympics in 2016, for the first time since 1904. The 2020 qualification system and format of the events were the same as used in 2016. 60 players qualified for each event, which consisted of a 72-hole individual stroke play tournament, played over four days. The men's event was played first, starting on 29 July, with the women's event starting on 4 August. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this was played behind closed doors. Qualification Qualification was based on the world rankings as of 21 June 2021 (men) and 28 June 2021 (women), with a total of 60 players qualifying in each of the men's and women's events.
