Kasper Andersen (speedway Rider)
Kasper Andersen (born 22 August 1998) is a Danish Motorcycle speedway, speedway rider who currently rides in Denmark for Fjelsted. Career He rode in the top tier of British Speedway, riding for the King's Lynn Stars in the SGB Premiership 2019. He was unable to race for the Redcar Bears in the SGB Championship 2021 following difficulties over a permit. In a twist of fate however, Andersen was drafted in as a replacement for Fernando Garcia (speedway rider), Coty Garcia at Berwick Bandits, who was stranded in his homeland Argentina since the start of the season due to travel restrictions. In August 2021, Kasper then signed for SGB Premiership team Kings Lynn Stars. In 2022, he rode for the Redcar Bears in the SGB Championship 2022. Munkebo Speedway Club
Munkebo Speedway Club is a motorcycle speedway club from Munkebo in Denmark. They were champions of Denmark, having won the title in 2015. Track The track called the Munkebo Speedway Center is located on the western outskirts of Munkebo, on Garbækstoften 20. History 1975 to 1984 Munkebo Motor Sport was founded on 1 December 1975 and a few months later they opened a 196-metre mini speedway track (50cc and 80cc), near the Lindø Shipyard. The first meeting held there was the 50cc Danish Moped Speedway Championship on 14 August 1976. A 500cc team was created despite the fact that Munkebo did not have a 500cc track. The team called the Svanerne (the Swans) raced in the Danish tournament, which was the league system in Denmark at the time. However, with no home venue they leased the tracks at Fjelsted and Holsted. SGB Championship 2021
The SGB Championship 2021 was the second tier division, called the SGB Championship, of the British speedway championship in 2021. Changes from the last edition of the Championship (held in 2019) were the addition of three teams and the loss of two teams. The 2019 Premiership club Poole Pirates, were the biggest profile club to join the league after dropping down from the highest league. Also the Kent Kings and Plymouth Gladiators both joined the league from the National Development League. Sheffield Tigers left the league to move up to the highest division and Somerset Rebels withdrew from the league altogether. The league started on 21 May with twelve teams participating and race meetings were covered by Eurosport. Poole Pirates finished top of the regular season table and secured a place in the play off semi finals. Poole duly won their play off semi final against Leicester and would meet Glasgow in the final. SGB Championship 2022
The 2022 SGB Championship season is the 75th season of the second tier of British Speedway and the 5th known as the SGB Championship. Summary Eleven clubs competed in the Championship in 2022, with Oxford returning to the sport after a 15 year absence. The Eastbourne Eagles and the Kent Kings did not compete in the 2022 edition, with the Kings riding in the National Development League as The Royals, and Eastbourne not riding at all. Alongside the league and Knockout Cup, a new Summer competition was added in form of a group stage before a three team final at Sheffield. The tournament was called 'The Championship Jubilee League' which was eventually suspended until the 2023 season. However the additional fixtures created an issue due to the suspension of fixtures during the Death and state funeral of Elizabeth II and the heavy rain during October. Fernando Garcia (born 2 August 1994) is an Argentine motorcycle speedway rider. He rides as Coty Garcia in speedway leagues and is a former national champion of Argentina. Biography Born in Colonia Barón, Argentina, Garcia first rode a motor bike aged just six year old in his home town of Salazar. He rode in the final two rounds of the 2012 Speedway Under-21 World Championship. He first came to British speedway when he signed for Berwick Bandits for the 2015 Premier League speedway season. The following season he signed for Scottish rivals Glasgow Tigers and improved his average by over two points and was a member of the Knockout Cup winning team. Redcar Bears signed him for the SGB Championship 2017. The SGB Premiership 2019 was the 85th season of the top division, called the SGB Premiership, of the British speedway championship in 2019. From the 2018 league season two teams, Leicester Lions and Somerset Rebels, dropped down to the next league down, the SGB Championship, and were replaced in the league by Ipswich Witches and Peterborough Panthers. Although no promotion or relegation exist in British speedway these changes were taken purely due to financial concerns of the teams that dropped out of the SGB Premiership. Esbjerg Speedway Klub or Esbjerg Vikings (part of Esbjerg Motosport) is a speedway club from Esbjerg in Denmark, who compete in the Danish Speedway League. The team have won the Danish Speedway League title on 10 occasions in 1967, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1980, 1981, 1984, 2012, 2013. Motorcycle Speedway
Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand).
