Emmanuel Kasonde
Emmanuel Kasonde (December 23, 1935 – December 12, 2008) was a Zambian economist and politician who served as the Finance permanent secretary or Minister of Finance under three successive Zambian presidential administrations, including Kenneth Kaunda, Frederick Chiluba and Levy Mwanawasa. Early life Emmanuel Kasonde was born in Malole Mission particularly in the village called Bwebe and later the family moved and settled Mukosa village in Malole, Northern Rhodesia. He completed his primary school education at Malole Primary School from 1943 to 1950. He next enrolled at St Francis Secondary School. Kasonde continued his education, attending Munali, located in Lusaka, from 1953 to 1956. It is at Mukosa village where he later established one of the biggest farm companies, called Trent farms. Francis Kasonde
Francis Kasonde (born 1 September 1986) is a Zambian professional footballer who plays for Mufulira Wanderers. Kasonde mainly plays as a centre-back but also can play as a defensive midfielder or as a right-back. Club career Kasonde has played for Power Dynamos F.C. in Kitwe, Zambia and Omani side Al-Suwaiq Club. In June 2017, Kasonde signed a six-month contract with Malaysia Premier League side Sabah. On 30 June 2017, Kasonde made his debut in a 1–0 victory during league match over PDRM. International career Kasonde is also a regular member of the Zambian national team from 2005 until 2013. He was the key of the Zambian team that won the 2012 African Cup of Nations. He earned his international debut in 2005 and scored his first goal against Egypt in a 1–1 draw. Joseph Mwenya Kasonde was a Zambian politician who served as the Minister of Health from October 2011 to 2016. Early life and career Kasonde was a Zambian physician who served as Minister of Health from 2011 to 2016. While serving as minister, he championed pharmaceutical policy and access to medicines issues, contributing to the re-establishment of Medical Stores Limited, the largest medicines storage and distribution facility in the Southern African Region. He was a founding member of the Lusaka Apex Medical University (LAMU), an institution established as a result of evidence on the magnitude of the human resources for health crisis in Zambia and Africa. LAMU saw the first privately trained Zambian doctors and pharmacists graduating in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
