	Kasım Pasha Kasım Pasha or Kasem Pasha ( tr, Kasım Paşa; 1442–43) was an Albanian Ottoman general and governor, the ''beylerbey'' of Rumelia and one of the commanders of the Ottoman forces during the Crusade of Varna (1443–44). When Rumelian beylerbey and vizier Hadım Şehabeddin was defeated by John Hunyadi in 1442, he was replaced by Kasım Pasha at both positions. Crusade of Varna At the beginning of the Crusade of Varna John Hunyadi crossed the Danube and rushed south along the river Morava to attack forces of Kasım Pasha before he could mobilize his complete army. The cavalry forces of 12,000 commanded by Kasım Pasha were defeated near Aleksinac during the Battle of Niš in 1443. After an Ottoman defeat, the retreating forces of Kasım Pasha and Turakhan Bey burned all villages between Niš and Sofia. 	Kasım Of Karaman Kasım of Karaman (died 1493) was the last bey of the Karaman Beylik, a Turkish principality in Anatolia in the 15th century. After a brief reign, his brother Pir Ahmet Bey lost most his beylik (principality) to the Ottoman Empire, and both brothers escaped to Akkoyunlu Turkmen's territory. With Akkoyunlu support they tried to regain their former possessions. Although they weren't able to regain their losses, Kasım allied himself with Republic of Venice, and with the help of a Venetian navy, he was briefly able to keep Silifke and the Mediterranean coast of the beylik. However, following the campaigns of Gedik Ahmed Pasha of the Ottoman Empire, he lost all of his possessions in 1475. 	Şehzade Kasım Şehzade Kasım ( Ottoman Turkish: شهزاده قاسم; 1614 – 17 February 1638) was an Ottoman prince and the son of Sultan Ahmed I and his wife Kösem Sultan. He was the brother of Murad IV and Ibrahim, and half-brother of Osman II. Life Şehzade Kasım was born in 1614 in Topkapı Palace to Ahmed I and Kösem Sultan. Following his father’s early death in 1617, he, along with his mother and brothers, were banished to the Old Palace (Eski Sarayı). 	Kasim Edebali Kasim Edebali (born August 17, 1989) is a former German-American professional American football defensive end. He played college football at Boston College and was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2014.
