Taleqan County ( fa, شهرستان طالقان) is located in Alborz province, Iran. The capital of the county is Taleqan, formerly Shahrak. At the 2006 census, the county's population as a part of Savojbolagh County in Tehran province was 25,781, in 7,574 households. Retrieved 15 November 2022 It was separated from Savojbolagh County. At the 2016 census, the county's population was 16,815, in 6,354 households. The area is known for its mild, sunny summers and cold winters. IRST is defined by the 52.5 degrees east meridian, the same meridian which defines the Iranian calendar and is the official meridian of Iran. Between 2005 and 2008, by decree of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran did not observe daylight saving time (DST) (called ''Iran Daylight Time'' or ''IRDT''). It was reintroduced from 21 March 2008.
