Karşıyaka Cemetery
The Karşıyaka Cemetery ( tr, Karşıyaka Mezarlığı) is a modern burial ground located at İvedik neighborhood in Yenimahalle district of Ankara, Turkey. Administered by the Metropolitan Municipality, it is the biggest cemetery in Ankara. Many prominent figures from the world of politics, business, sports and arts rest here. In the end of 1998, the size of the burial area was extended from to to meet the need for the city's burial ground until 2025. End November 2009, it was reported by the director of city cemeteries that there are 260,000 graves in the Karşıyaka Cemetery, and the number of interments at the cemetery is about one thousand per month with increasing tendency. He added that "Due to increased rate of burials, it was expected that the cemetery will reach its capacity already in 2010. For this reason a much larger cemetery is projected." Masatoshi Gündüz Ikeda
Masatoşi Gündüz İkeda (25 February 1926 – 9 February 2003), was a Japanese-born Turkish mathematician known for his contributions to the field of algebraic number theory. Early years Ikeda was born on 25 February 1926 in Tokyo, Japan, to Junzo Ikeda, head of the statistics department of an insurance company, and his wife Yaeko Ikeda. He was the youngest child with a brother and two sisters. He grew up reading mathematics books belonging to his father. During his school years, he bought himself used books about mathematics and the life story of mathematicians. He was very impressed by the French mathematician Évariste Galois (1811–1832). Bahriye Üçok (1919 – October 6, 1990) was a Turkish academic of theology, left-wing politician, writer, columnist, and women's rights activist whose assassination in 1990 remains unresolved. Early life and education Born in Trabzon, Bahriye Üçok finished her primary education in Ordu and then graduated from Kandilli High School for Girls in Istanbul.
