Kartel Records
Kartel Records Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian hip-hop record label, dealing predominantly in hip-hop/ R&B music, founded by rapper/entrepreneur Joe Flizzow in 2005. In 2008, Kartel Records entered into a distribution agreement with Warner Music Group Malaysia, enabling the record label to market its artists to a wider audience. History Beginnings After years of being signed to EMI Malaysia as an artist and member of Malaysia's hip-hop duo Too Phat, Joe Flizzow decided to take control of his music career by forming his own record label. This gave birth to Kartel Records in 2005. Rebirth Into Reality The label's first release was ''Rebirth into Reality'' by Too Phat in 2005, jointly-owned and in partnership with EMI Malaysia. Mikael Adam bin Muhammad Rafee Michel Lozach or Mikael Adam Lozach, better known as SonaOne is a Malaysian singer-songwriter and actor. He gained recognition through the songs "I Don't Care" with Mal Karmal, "No More" and with rapper Joe Flizzow "Havoc" and "Hello". In 2014, he won an award in the 29th Anugerah Juara Lagu. His song "No More" was awarded the best song in the 21st Anugerah Industri Muzik. It made him a composer who has won two major awards in the same year, with the other being Adnan Abu Hassan. Early life SonaOne was born in Kuantan, Pahang on November 30 1988. His mother, Noorzulaily, a Malaysian dance designer was married to a Frenchman, Michel Lozach. Shah Indrawan bin Ismail (born 17 May 1984), known as Tomok, is a Malaysian singer and the winner of the third season of '' One in a Million'' (OIAM), a reality TV singing competition. He became the first male contestant and the first recording artist to do so in the history of the competition. He is also the lead vocalist of a Malaysian band called New Boyz. Early life Tomok was born in Negeri Sembilan on 17 May 1984 and was raised in Kuala Lumpur. He is the fourth child of six.
