Annie May Hurd Karrer
Annie May Hurd Karrer (July 28, 1893 in La Conner, Washington – May 15, 1984 in Orange County, Florida) was an American plant physiologist who worked for the United States Department of Agriculture. Biography Annie May Hurd was born in 1893 in La Conner, Washington. She received an A.B. degree from the University of Washington in 1915 and an M.S. from that institution in 1917. She received her Ph.D. in plant physiology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1918. The same year that she received her doctoral degree, Hurd joined the staff of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), as a researcher for the Bureau of Plant Industry. She married physicist Sebastian Karrer in 1923. She continued her work for USDA, specializing in the improvement of cereal crops and the control of their diseases. Now as Annie Karrer, she rose to the position of associate plant physiologist in 1924; she was named plant physiologist in 1944, a position she held until 1949. Karr ...

Chris Karrer
Christoph "Chris" Karrer (born 20 January 1947, Kempten, Germany) is a German guitarist and composer. He also plays oud, saxophone and violin. He is known as co-founder of the Amon Düül commune and a member of the related and much more commercially successful project Amon Düül II) and for his collaboration with Embryo. With his band Amon Düül II he composed film music for Rainer Werner Fassbinder's ' and Hans-Jürgen Syberberg's film ''San Domingo'' (Deutscher Filmpreis 1971 for film music). Felix Karrer
Felix Karrer (March 1825 – 19 April 1903) was an Austrian geologist. He was born in Venice Venice ( ; it, Venezia ; vec, Venesia or ) is a city in northeastern Italy and the capital of the Veneto Regions of Italy, region. It is built on a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by over 400  ..., educated in Vienna, and served for a time in the war department, but he retired from the public service at the age of thirty-two, and devoted himself to science. He made especial studies of the Tertiary formations and fossils of the Vienna Basin, and investigated the geological relations of the thermal and other springs in that region. He became an authority on the foraminifera, on which subject he published numerous papers. He wrote also a little book entitled ''Der Boden der Hauptstädte Europas'' (1881). He died in Vienna.
