Karpy was a Spanish professional cycling team that existed from 1967 to 1972. The team was selected to race in six editions of the Vuelta a España, where they achieved four stage wins. Vuelta A Asturias
Vuelta Asturias is a professional cycle road race held in Spain in early May each year. The event was first run in 1925 but has not been held consistently until 1968 to present. Since 2005, the race has been organised as a 2.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. On 25 April 2014, the Vuelta Asturias was suspended one week before its start due to the lack of funds and sponsors. The race returned in 2015, when a two-stage edition was won by Igor Antón (). 1970 Vuelta A España
The 1970 Vuelta a España was the 25th Edition Vuelta a España, taking place from 23 April to 12 May 1970. It consisted of 19 stages over , ridden at an average speed of . The race revealed Augustín Tamames as a contender for the future at the Vuelta as Tamames riding in his first Vuelta held in the final week the race lead until the final individual time trial when Luis Ocaña time trialled himself into the lead. Ocaña had finished runner up in the previous edition of the race and won the two time trials in the 1970 Vuelta. It would be Ocaña’s only win in the Spanish race. Eduardo Castelló Vilanova (4 March 1940 – 31 October 2020) was a Spanish professional racing cyclist. He rode in three editions of the Tour de France and eight of the Vuelta a España, notably winning a stage in 1968, as well as finishing 13th in the 1972 edition.
