Karun Arvand Khorramshahr Football Club is an Iranian professional football club based in Khorramshahr, Iran. They currently compete in the Iranian League 2. Human Afazeli
Human Afazeli ( fa, هومن افاضلی) is an Iranian football coach and former player. Playing career Afazeli began his extensive career in football at the age of 9, playing for Rah Ahan F.C. of Tehran. Afazeli eventually progressed to Pas F.C. of Tehran and played until earning a roster spot on the senior squad. After a severe injury to his left knee in 1991, his athletic career in professional football came to an end. Coaching career Afazeli began his coaching career at the age of 25. His first senior job came across when he took over 1st division outfield Shahab Zanjan. Azadegan League
The Azadegan League ( fa, ليگ آزادگان, ''Lig-e Âzâdegân''), also known as League 1 ( fa, لیگ یک, ''Lig-e Yek''), is the second highest division of professional football in Iran. It was the top-level football league in Iran from its foundation in 1991 until 2001, when the Persian Gulf Pro League was established. Each year, the top finishing teams in the Azadegan League are promoted to the Persian Gulf Pro League, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to League 2. Since 2016, the league comprises 18 teams. The winner and the runner-up of the Azadegan League are automatically promoted to the Persian Gulf Pro League. 2018–19 Azadegan League
The 2018–19 Azadegan League was the 28th season of the Azadegan League and 18th as the second highest division since its establishment in 1991. The season featured 12 teams from the 2017–18 Azadegan League, two new teams relegated from the 2017–18 Persian Gulf Pro League: Siah Jamegan and Naft Tehran and two new teams promoted from the 2017–18 League 2: Karoon Arvand Khorramshahr and Shahin Bushehr both as champions. Navad Urmia replaced Gostaresh Foulad, while Sorkhpooshan Pakdasht replaced Esteghlal Jonoub. Oxin Alborz changed their name into Gol Reyhan. Karun Khuzestan F
The Karun ( fa, کارون, ) is the Iranian river with the highest water flow, and its only navigable river. It is long. It rises in the Zard Kuh mountains of the Bakhtiari district in the Zagros Range, receiving many tributaries, such as the Dez and the Kuhrang, before passing through the capital of the Khuzestan Province of Iran, the city of Ahvaz before emptying to its mouth into Arvand Rud (Shatt al-Arab). Iranian football's 2nd division ( fa, ليگ دسته دوم ایران) is the third-highest football division overall in the Iranian football league system. Before 2001, the 2nd division league was the second-highest division in Iranian football league system, however, this was changed to third-highest division when Iran's football structure officially became professional. The league consists of two, fourteen team groups who play each other twice in a home and away format. The first and second placed teams in each group are automatically promoted to the Azadegan League. The bottom two teams in both groups are automatically relegated to the 3rd division. Arvand Free Zone
The Arvand Free Zone with an area of 37,400 hectares is at the confluence of the Karun and Arvand (Shatt al-Arab) rivers. The Zone is located at a height of three meters above sea level and in proximity to Iraq and in the north west of Persian Gulf. Special fertility of the area is due to sediments having been accumulated in the lowlands for the past millions years ago. The average temperature in the Zone since the beginning of the year until mid-autumn is 48 °C and will reach to 8 °C during other days of the year and the annual average rainfall is about 188 millimeters. Hazfi Cup
Hazfi Cup (Jām-e Hazfi; ) is the Iranian football knockout cup competition, run by the Iranian Football Federation. The Iranian football league was not held during the 1980s, hence the winner of Hazfi Cup represented Iran in the Asian Club Championship. After the revive of the league system, the champion of Iranian league qualified for Asian Club Championship and the winner of Hazfi Cup ran for Asian Cup Winners' Cup. However, the Asian Cup Winners' Cup merged with the Asian Champions Cup in 2002–03 to form the AFC Champions League and Iran had been initially given two (and later four) slots in this competitions.
