Karl Lieffen
Karl Lieffen (17 May 1926 – 13 January 1999), born Karel František Lifka, was a German film actor. He appeared in more than 140 films on screen and television between 1949 and 1998. He was born in Ossegg (Osek), Czechoslovakia and attended drama classes at Brunswick and the Heer School of Music in Bückeburg. In 1946 he started his theatre career in Freiburg followed by engagements at the Hessian State Theatre in Wiesbaden, the Munich Kammerspiele and the Opern- und Schauspielhaus Frankfurt. In 1975 he joined the ensemble of the Bavarian State Theatre (Residenz Theatre) in Munich. From the 1950s on Lieffen became known to a wider public for his film appearances, like the role of the brisk chauffeur Fritz in Billy Wilder's ''One, Two, Three''. He died in Starnberg, Germany. Osek (german: Ossegg) is a town in Teplice District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,600 inhabitants. Administrative parts Villages of Dlouhá Louka and Hrad Osek are administrative parts of Osek. Geography Osek is located about west of Teplice and west of Ústí nad Labem. A short part of the municipal territory borders with Germany. The southern part of the territory with the built-up area lies in the Most Basin, the northern part lies in the Ore Mountains. Nick Knatterton is the name of a West German comic strip and the name of its main character, a private detective. The strip was drawn by (1913–1999) from 1950 to 1959. It was initially released in the German magazine ''Quick''. The visual style of the comics is cartoony, but still realistic enough for the comic to be taken as a (at least mostly) serious detective comic.
