Carl Knud Johnson (born December 26, 1949) is a former American football offensive lineman who played two seasons with the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Saints in the fifth round of the 1972 NFL Draft. He first enrolled at Phoenix Junior College before transferring to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Johnson attended South Mountain High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Karl Jónsson (1135–1213) was an Icelandic writer, poet and clergyman. Biography Karl Jónsson was abbot of the Thingeyrar monastery (Icelandic: ''Þingeyrarklaustur)'' dating from 1169 until 1181. In 1185. he traveled to Norway where he attended the court of King Sverre of Norway. Later Karl Jónsson became the author of ''Sverris saga''. The Saga became a primary source of information concerning the reign of King Sverre. The work additionally contains relevant facts for this period in the history of Norway. The Benedictine monastery of Thingeyrar was founded in 1133 by Jón Ögmundsson, Bishop of Hólar. The Thingeyrar Monastery was located in Austur-Húnavatnssýsla, (eastern part of Húnavatnssýslur), in Northwestern Iceland. Carl Johnson (''Carl Edward Johnson;'' May 21, 1898 – September 13, 1932) was an American athlete who competed mainly in the long jump. He competed for the United States in the 1920 Summer Olympics held in Antwerp, Belgium in the long jump, where he won the silver medal. Early life Johnson was born in Genesee County, Michigan, but moved to Spokane, Washington, as a child. In 1915, as a Spokane high school student, he competed as an individual in the National Interscholastics, and finished second in the team competition. He returned to Michigan in 1916 to enroll at the University of Michigan, where he was a member of the track team from 1918 to 1920 and became one of the greatest track and field athletes in the university's history.
