Karl Gustav Stricker Brøndsted (13 December 1915 – 27 February 1945) was a member of the Danish resistance executed by the German occupying power. Biography On 27 February 1945 Brøndsted and nine other resistance members were executed in Ryvangen. After his death After a memorial service in Hellerup church 28 August 1945 Brøndsted was the following day together with 105 other victims of the occupation given a state funeral in the memorial park founded at the execution site in Ryvangen. Ryvangen
Ryvangen or Ryvangskvarteret (English language, English: The Ryvang neighbourhood) is a neighbourhood of single-family detached homes in the northern part of Østerbro, on the border with Hellerup, in Copenhagen, Denmark. History The name Ryvangen translates to "The Rye Field". The portion located to the west of the Nordbanen, north-bound railway line was ceded to the Royal Danish Army, Army in 1893 and used for the construction of the Svanemøllen Barracks. The area on the east side of the railway tracks was used for the establishment of a new residential neighbourhood of single-family, detached houses in a successful attempt to keep wealthy tax-payers in the municipality. With improved infrastructure, they had increasingly been settling in either Frederiksberg or the northern suburbs. The new neighbourhood attracted a mixture of businessmen, editors, lawyers and artists. A local plan for the area was adopted in 1995. Hans Fuglsang-Damgaard (29 July 1890 – 8 July 1979) was a bishop of the diocese of Copenhagen for 25 years including the years of the Nazi Germany, German occupation. Early life and education Hans Fuglsang-Damgaard was born on 29 July 1890 in Fuglsang, Oksenvad parish to proprietor Ole Christian Damgaard. Erik Crone (29 May 1919 – 27 February 1945) was a member of the Danish resistance executed by the German occupying power. Biography Crone's membership of the resistance was betrayed to Gestapo by Jørgen Børge Axel Lorenzen, leader of the infamous Lorenzen Group and on 19 December 1944 Crone was arrested. On 27 February 1945 Crone and nine other resistance members were executed in Ryvangen. After his death On 29 August Crone and 105 other victims of the occupation were given a state funeral in the memorial park founded at the execution and burial site in Ryvangen where he was executed.
