Karksi-Nuia (before 1987 ''Nuia'') is a town in Mulgi Parish, Viljandi County, southern Estonia close to the Latvian border. The nearest villages are Univere to the west, Polli and Karksi to the north, and Kõvaküla to the south. History Karksi was first mentioned in the 12th century as an administrative center. Margus Hunt (born July 14, 1987) is an Estonian professional American football defensive end who is a free agent. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played college football at SMU. He also played for the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints. Karksi Parish
Karksi Parish ( et, Karksi vald) was a rural municipality of Estonia, in Viljandi County. In 2009, it has a population of 4,041 (as of 1 January 2009) and an area of 321.45 km². After the municipal elections held on 15 October 2017, Karksi Parish was merged with Abja and Halliste parishes and the town of Mõisaküla to form a new Mulgi Parish. Mulgi Parish ( et, Mulgi vald) is a rural municipality in southern Estonia. It is a part of Viljandi County. As of 2021, the municipality has a population of 7,372, and covers . It is one of the southernmost municipalities of both Vilandji and Estonia, 4 miles (6.4 km) north of the Latvian border. Great Northern War
The Great Northern War (1700–1721) was a conflict in which a coalition led by the Tsardom of Russia successfully contested the supremacy of the Swedish Empire in Northern, Central and Eastern Europe. The initial leaders of the anti-Swedish alliance were Peter I of Russia, Frederick IV of Denmark–Norway and Augustus II the Strong of Saxony– Poland–Lithuania. Viljandi
Viljandi (, german: Fellin, sv, Fellin) is a town and municipality in southern Estonia with a population of 17,407 in 2019. It is the capital of Viljandi County and is geographically located between two major Estonian cities, Pärnu and Tartu. The town was first mentioned in 1283, upon being granted its town charter by Wilhelm von Endorpe.
