Kariya (film)
''Kariya'' is a 2003 Indian Kannada-language gangster film written and directed by Prem, starring Darshan and Abinayasri. It narrates the tragic story of a homeless assassin-for-hire Kariya, who falls for Maya, a well educated and rich dancer. Although she tries to convey her feelings, Kariya hesitantly moves away causing her to pledge that she will only reciprocate his feelings if he proclaims his love for her. Meanwhile, a few local thugs try to entrap Kariya and seek vengeance for the death of their friend. Kiran Kumar (born 22 October 1976), known by his screen name Prem, is an Indian film director in Cinema of Karnataka, Kannada cinema. Personal life Prem was born as Kiran Kumar on 22 October 1976 in Maddur, Mandya, Maddur, in the Mandya district of the Indian state of Karnataka, to Rajappa and Bhagyamma. He is married to actress-turned-producer Rakshita and they have a son named Surya. Career Prem started his career as assistant director on the film ''Nishkarsha'' (1993), working with Sunil Kumar Desai, while he was pursuing his pre-university course. Upon completion of the film, he returned to his hometown Mandya to complete the course before returning to Bangalore. He proceeded to work as an associate director with G. K. ''Kariya 2'' () is an Indian Kannada action gangster film directed by Prabhu Srinivas starring Santhosh Balaraj in the titular role and Mayuri Kyatari in the opposite lead role. The film is produced by Anekal Balaraj through his production company Santosh Enterprises. The score and soundtrack are composed by Karan B.
