Karin Erskine
Karin Erskine (born February 26, 1945) is a Swedish costume designer. She was co-nominated with Henny Noremark for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design for their work in Ingmar Bergman's film ''The Magic Flute ''The Magic Flute'' (German: , ), K. 620, is an opera in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to a German libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder. She attended art school in Stockholm and worked at the National Theater (Old Vic Theatre) and for the BBC in London. Then she became a freelance costume designer. She worked for film and television, opera and theatre. Erskine was responsible for the costume design in Ingrid Bergman's musical film The Magic Flute. Henny Noremark
Henny Noremark (born 23 May 1942) is a Swedish production designer and costume designer. She was co-nominated with Karin Erskine for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design for their work in Ingmar Bergman's film ''The Magic Flute ''The Magic Flute'' (German: , ), K. 620, is an opera in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to a German libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder. Career Henny Noremark, who came from central Sweden, attended the Konstfackskolan in Stockholm from 1960 to 1965 and received extensive artistic training there. Henny Noremark then received further training in production design at Swedish television in 1967/68 and further training at the same place as a producer in 1970/71. Academy Award For Best Costume Design
The Academy Award for Best Costume Design is one of the Academy Awards presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) for achievement in film costume design. The award was first given in 1949, for films made in 1948. Initially, separate award categories were established for black-and-white films and color films. Since the merger of the two categories in 1967, the academy has traditionally avoided giving out the award to films with a contemporary setting. Award The Academy Award for Best Costume Design is given out annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences for the best achievement of film costume design of the previous year. Ernst Ingmar Bergman (14 July 1918 – 30 July 2007) was a Swedish film director, screenwriter, Film producer, producer and playwright. ''The Magic Flute'' ( sv, Trollflöjten) is Ingmar Bergman's 1975 film version of Mozart's opera ''Die Zauberflöte''. It was intended as a television production and was first shown on Swedish television on 1 January 1975, but was followed by a cinema release later that year. The work is widely viewed as one of the most successful films of an opera ever made, and as an unusual item among the director's works. The film won BAFTA TV Award for '' Best Foreign Television Programme'' in 1976 and was nominated for Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film.
