Karim Noureldin
Karim Noureldin (born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland) is a Swiss visual artist. Biography Noureldin studied at the ''Zürcher Hochschule der Künste'' Zurich (1988–1989) and at Hochschule für Design und Kunst Basel HGK/University of Art and Design Basel (1990–1993). From 1994 - 2000 he lived in New York, after 2001 in Rome, from 2005-2006 in London and Cairo. He lives and works currently in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2002 he was appointed Associated Professor for Visual Arts at the University of Art and Design École cantonale d'art de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland. Being member of various jury commission in art institutions, in 2017 he was appointed as supervisory board member of the Hermann and Margrit Rupf Foundation / Rupf Collection, Bern. and since 2019 also of the Theodor Bally Estate Foundation. A generation refers to all of the people born and living at about the same time, regarded collectively. Kehrer Verlag is an art book publisher based in Heidelberg, Germany, specializing in photography, fine art, and sound art. Its books are produced in cooperation with Kehrer Design, the affiliated office for design and image processing. History The publishing house was founded by Klaus Kehrer in Heidelberg in 1995. Since 2005, its headquarters was a loft in the Heinsteinwerk in Heidelberg, a former ceramic factory built in 1912. It has since moved. From 2010 to 2013, Kehrer Verlag operated a showroom in Prenzlauer Berg in Berlin, where book presentations and artist talks were organized regularly. The Kunstmuseum Basel houses the oldest public art collection in the world and is generally considered to be the most important museum of art in Switzerland. Aargauer Kunsthaus
Aargauer Kunsthaus (English: ''Aargauer Art House'') a Swiss art museum founded in 1959, and located in Aarau. The museum collection includes Swiss art from the 18th-century to the present day; and ''Naturama'', a natural history collection. About Works in the museum art collection include Alberto Giacometti, Jean Tinguely, Richard Long, and Fischli/Weiss. The original building was built between 1956 and 1959 by local architects Loepfe Hänni and Hänngli. In 2003, a new building extension was added to the museum. Holly Solomon Gallery opened in New York City in 1975 at 392 West Broadway in Soho, Manhattan. Started by Holly Solomon - aspiring actress, style-icon, and collector - and her husband Horace Solomon, the gallery was initially known for launching major art careers and nurturing the artistic movement known as Pattern and Decoration, which was a reaction to the austerities of Minimal art. Swiss Institute / Contemporary Art New York (SI) is an independent non-profit contemporary art organization founded in 1986. SI is located at 38 St Marks Pl, the corner of Second Avenue and St Marks Place in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan. History The Swiss Institute was founded in 1986 by a group of Swiss expats looking to highlight their country’s artists and culture. Kunsthalle Basel is a contemporary art gallery in Basel, Switzerland. As Switzerland's oldest and still most active institution for contemporary art, Kunsthalle Basel forms a vital part of Basel's cultural centre and is located next to the city's theatre, opposite the concert house Stadtcasino, and in the same building as the famed Restaurant Kunsthalle.
