Alexei Karev
Alexei Eremeevich Karev (1879, Shilovka – 1942, Leningrad) was a Russian people, Russian painter and graphic artist. Karev studied icon-painting studio under Fyodor Korneyev in Saratov in 1896 and then until 1898 he attended the Alexey Bogolyubov, Alexei Bogolyubov School of Drawing there, before moving to Penza where he studied under Konstantin Savitsky at the Nikolai Seliverstov School of Art. In 1901 he moved to Kiev where he studied for two years at the Kiev Private School of Art. In 1903 he then moved to St Petersburg and attended the Free Studio of Art. He was influenced by the Symbolism (arts), French Symbolists and Post-Impressionism, Post-Impressionists. He is noted for his cityscapes of Petrograd/Leningrad from the late 1910s to the 1930s. Andrei Germanovich Karev (born February 12, 1985) is a Belarusian professional ice hockey defenceman. He currently plays for Yunost Minsk of the VHL. Playing career Karev began his career at Elemash Elktrostal, his hometown team, playing 42 games in the Russian second division. He then moved to the Yunost Minsk system, where has played almost all of his career since. He has won three Belarusian Extraleague titles with Yunost, coming in consecutive years starting in 2008-09. Karev played six games for Kontinental Hockey League team Dinamo Minsk in 2009-10, returning to Yunost Minsk after that. Leonid Karev is a composer, organist and pianist, born in Moscow in 1969. He has lived in France since 1992, and is a professor of organ and piano accompaniment at the Conservatories of Paris and Yerres (France) and organist at the Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption church in Paris and the Bertrand Cattiaux's organ in the Saint-Médard church in Brunoy (France). Sergei Karev
Sergei Anatolyevich Karev (russian: Сергей Анатольевич Карев, born 31 March 1986) is a Russian retired pair skater. With former partner Arina Ushakova, he is the 2005 Golden Spin of Zagreb silver medalist and 2007 Winter Universiade bronze medalist. They placed 5th at the 2008 European Championships. Career Early in his pairs career, Karev competed with Daria Kaziutchitz. They placed 9th at the 2005 Russian Championships and 5th at the Russian Junior Championships. In 2005, Karev teamed up with Arina Ushakova, with whom he trained in Moscow. Originally coached by Nina Mozer, the pair switched to Natalia Pavlova ahead of the 2007–08 season. Ushakova/Karev won the bronze medal at the 2008 Russian Nationals and were sent to the 2008 European Championships where they finished 5th. Doris Kareva
Doris Kareva (28 November 1958) is an Estonian poet and translator. She serves as the head of the Estonian National Commission in UNESCO. Biography Kareva was born in Tallinn. Her father, Hillar Kareva, was a notable composer. She studied English language and literature at the University of Tartu and started to write poetry in the 1960s. She is a recipient of a number of state awards, including two Estonian State Cultural Awards and the Order of the White Star. Kareva's poetry was translated to 18 languages as of 2014.
