Karen Njeri Nyamu is a Kenyan politician from the UDA. She is a nominated member of the Senate of Kenya. United Democratic Alliance (Kenya)
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is the current ruling political party in Kenya. Their slogan is "Kazi ni Kazi" (Work is work) and their symbol is a wheelbarrow .The party, initially called the Party of Development and Reforms, officially changed its name to UDA in December 2020. The party became notable in January 2021, and is linked to politicians allied to Dr. William Ruto, the President of Kenya. The party fielded candidates in various by-elections for elective positions slated for March 2021. UDA nominated Ruto in the 2022 Kenyan general election, after he announced that he would leave the Jubilee Party in late 2021. Ruto picked Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate for the elections. In the 2022 general elections, out of 47 elected senate seats, UDA was able to garner 22 seats, while the Orange Democratic Movement(ODM), Jubilee party, Wiper and the United Democratic Movement(UDM) got 13,4,3 and 2 seats respectively. Senate Of Kenya
The Senate of the Republic of Kenya is one of the two Houses of the Parliament of Kenya, along with the National Assembly. The Senate was first established as part of Kenya's 1963 Constitution. After being abolished in 1966, the Senate was re-established by Article 93 of the new 2010 Constitution to represent counties' interests as well as pass legislation concerning counties. First Senate, 1963–1966 Kenya's 1963 Constitution established a Senate that consisted of 41 senators elected for six years, with one-third of the members retiring every two years. Timothy Chokwe served as the first speaker of the Senate.
