Karen Lawrence (singer-songwriter)
Karen Lawrence is an American singer and songwriter who has worked with the L.A. Jets (1994), Karen Lawrence and the Pinz, and Blue by Nature. She sang backup vocals on "Get It Up" from the '' Draw the Line'' by Aerosmith and sang "Back on the Streets" from the Jeff Beck album ''Flash''. A stage performer since the age of nine, she fronted her first band, a blues outfit, at the age of 13. As front woman for the A&M band 1994: (produced by Jack Douglas). ''Kerrang!'' wrote "it was 1994's Karen Lawrence who gave the others the choice of being second best or giving up". In addition to lead vocal and writing credits on Jeff Beck's ''Beckology'', Lawrence's most notable song was composing "Prisoner (Love Theme from ''Eyes of Laura Mars'')", performed by Barbra Streisand. Get It Up (Aerosmith Song)
"Get It Up" is a song by American hard rock band Aerosmith. Written by lead singer Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry, the song features Karen Lawrence, singer of the band L.A. Jets, on the chorus. It was released in 1978 as the third and final single from their album '' Draw the Line''. The single also included "Milk Cow Blues" as a B-side. The single failed to break into the singles chart. The guitar is noted for its usage of slide guitar. The single had a reference to the next track on the album, "Bright Light Fright". The song was played occasionally by the band during the Aerosmith Express Tour from 1977 to 1978 in support of the ''Draw the Line'' album. Jeff Beck
Geoffrey Arnold Beck (born 24 June 1944) is an English rock guitarist. He rose to prominence with the Yardbirds and after fronted the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice. In 1975, he switched to a mainly instrumental style, with a focus on innovative sound, and his releases have spanned genres ranging from blues rock, hard rock, jazz fusion and a blend of guitar-rock and electronica.
