Karen Kryczka
Karen Pearce Kryczka (born November 24, 1940) is a former politician from Alberta, Canada. Kryczka was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in the 1997 Alberta general election. She served as a back bench member for the Progressive Conservatives. In 2001 she was re-elected for a second term. She retired from her seat in 2004 when she decided not to run again. In the Legislature she was the chair of the Seniors Advisory Council for Alberta. She was a supporter of Jim Dinning's campaign in the 2006 Alberta Progressive Conservative leadership election. The Legislative Assembly of Alberta is the deliberative assembly of the province of Alberta, Canada. It sits in the Alberta Legislature Building in Edmonton. The Legislative Assembly currently has 87 members, elected first past the post from single-member electoral districts. Bills passed by the Legislative Assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, as the viceregal representative of the King of Canada. The Legislative Assembly and the Lieutenant Governor together make up the unicameral Alberta Legislature. Kelly Kryczka
Kelly Kryczka (born July 8, 1961) is a Canadian competitor in synchronized swimming, world champion and Olympic medalist. Career Kelly Kryczka began synchronized swimming at the Calgary Glencoe Club and then moved on to train with the Calgary Aquabelles. She and Helen Vanderburg earned gold in duet at the 1979 Canadian Aquatic Championships, a gold medal in duet at the 1979 Pan American Games in San Juan, and gold at the Federation Internationale De Natation Amateur Cup in 1979. Kryczka won the solo and duet events at the Canadian Aquatic Championships in 1980. After Helen Vanderburg retired in 1979 Kryczka paired with Sharon Hambrook. They received a gold medal in duet at the 1982 World Aquatics Championships in Guayaquil, where Kryczka also received a silver medal in solo and a gold medal in the team event. Jim Dinning
James Francis Dinning (born December 4, 1952) is a Canadian Progressive Conservative politician and businessman. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta (1986–1997), and now serves on the board of directors of a variety of Canadian companies. Dinning ran for the leadership of the Alberta Progressive Conservatives to replace Ralph Klein as Premier of Alberta. Dinning raised over 2 million dollars for his leadership bid but was ultimately defeated by leadership candidate Ed Stelmach when party members voted for Klein's replacement on December 2, 2006. In June 2010, he was selected as the 12th Chancellor of the University of Calgary. Dinning sits as an advisor to Canada's Ecofiscal Commission. Ralph Klein's Conservatives were re-elected, with increased number of seats in the Legislature. The Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta (often referred to colloquially as Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta) was a provincial centre-right party in the Canadian province of Alberta that existed from 1905 to 2020.
