Karen Gillmor
Karen Gillmor (born January 29, 1948) is a Republican Party (United States), Republican politician who served in the Ohio Senate, and who now serves on the Ohio Industrial Commission. She is the widow of former U.S. Congressman Paul Gillmor. Life and career Gillmor graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with honors from Michigan State University, and a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. She served on the State Employment Relations Board from 1997 to 2007. She first was elected to the Ohio Senate in 1992 to succeed Paul Pfeifer, who had won election to the Ohio Supreme Court. In 1996, she was reelected, however, she resigned from her second term in 1997 to take a seat in the State Employees Relations Board. Steve Reinhard
Steve Reinhard is an American farmer, teacher, and politician. Born in Bucyrus, Ohio, Reinhard graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in agriculture education and economics. Reinhard was teacher and farmer. From 2001 to 2008, Reinhard served in the Ohio House of Representatives and is a Republican. Reinhard taught agriculture at Crestview High School and coached basketball. In 2012, Reinhard served as Crawford County commissioner. He also served on the Ohio Exposition Commission and is the chairman of the commission. In 2016, Reinhard sought election to the Ohio House of Representatives, but was defeated in the primary by Wes Goodman. The Secretary of State of Ohio is an elected statewide official in the State of Ohio. The Secretary of state is responsible for overseeing elections in the state; registering business entities (corporations, etc.) and granting them the authority to do business within the state; registering secured transactions; and granting access to public documents. From 1803 to 1851, the Ohio Secretary of State was elected by the Ohio General Assembly to a three-year term. The 1851 Ohio Constitution made the office elective, with a two-year term. ''The Blade'', also known as the ''Toledo Blade'', is a newspaper in Toledo, Ohio published daily online and printed Thursday and Sunday by Block Communications. The newspaper was first published on December 19, 1835. Overview The first issue of what was then the ''Toledo Blade'' was printed on December 19, 1835. It has been published daily since 1848 and is the oldest continuously run business in Toledo. David Ross Locke gained national fame for the paper during the Civil War era by writing under the pen name Petroleum V. Nasby. Under this name, he wrote satires ranging on topics from slavery, to the Civil War, to temperance. President Abraham Lincoln was fond of the Nasby satires and sometimes quoted them. The Ohio Supreme Court, Officially known as The Supreme Court of the State of Ohio is the highest court in the U.S. state of Ohio, with final authority over interpretations of Ohio law and the Ohio Constitution. The court has seven members, a chief justice and six associate justices, who are elected at large by the voters of Ohio for six-year terms. The court has a total of 1,550 other employees.
