Karel Kesselaers
Karel Kesselaers (born 3 September 1959) is a Belgian former soccer player. In 1983, he was selected as player of the season by KV Mechelen in the same year of their promotion to the Belgian League. Oelegem
Oelegem is a village and ''deelgemeente'' (sub-municipality) of the municipality of Ranst in the province of Antwerp, Belgium. The village is located about east of the city of Antwerp. History Oelegem is located on the border of the Campine region with the loam area of the Nete. A Roman settlement was discovered dating between the 1st century BC and 3rd century AD. The village was first mentioned in 1161 when the parish became part of the Tongerlo Abbey. Around 1701, four fortresses were built by the French. During the 20th century, Oelegem was the site of the large scale constructions. Fort van Oelegem was built between 1909 and 1913, the Albert Canal was dug, and the motorway E313 from Antwerp to Liège was constructed. Vrieselhof Castle was completely destroyed during World War I, and later rebuilt in Flemish Renaissance Revival style. Belgium National Under-21 Football Team
The Belgium national under-21 football team is the national under-21 football team of Belgium and is controlled by the Belgian Football Association. The team competes in the European Under-21 Football Championship, held every two years. Their biggest successes were winning the 2007–09 International Challenge Trophy and reaching the European Championship semi-finals in 2007 in the Netherlands. The UEFA Cup Winners' Cup was a European football club competition contested annually by the winners of domestic cup competitions. The cup was, chronologically, the second seasonal inter-European club competition organised by UEFA. The tournament ran for 39 seasons, with the final edition held in 1998–99, after which it was discontinued. The first tournament was held in 1960–61, but it was organised by the Mitropa Cup's Organising Committee and not recognised by the governing body of European football until 1963, when it was accepted as a UEFA competition on the initiative of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).
