''Karawaan'' ( ur, , lit=Caravan) is a 1985 Pakistani television series written by Abdul-Qadir Junejo and directed by Iqbal Ansari. It is based on the life of Sindhi folk singer Fozia Soomro. Synopsis The story revolves around Sukhaan a Thari folk singer. During the warm weather it brought with it severe drought, forcing her family, friends and the rest of inhabitants had to quickly migrate to different area with water but on the way she gets lost and heads to city where she tries to become a singer. Rahat Kazmi ( ur, ) is a Pakistani actor, screenwriter, TV news presenter anchorman, and an academician. He has worked in several TV serials for PTV such as 1967's ''Mayaar'', 1974's ''Qurbatain aur Faaslay'' and 1976's Pakistan's first coloured and classical serial '' Parchaiyan''. Subhani ba Yunus (1931–2006) was an accomplished Pakistani actor and television and radio personality whose distinct voice quality earned him a special place in Radio Pakistan. Younis was an Urdu-speaking Hyderabadi Muslim of Hadhrami Chaush descent. PTV National Awards () was an awards ceremony annually held by the Pakistan Television Corporation. The awards were first introduced in the late 1970s to encourage talented people in Pakistan. History The PTV awards is the largest awards ceremony in the country and is presented by the government of Pakistan's largest media group. The Pakistan Television Corporation established the PTV Awards in 1970 from Karachi Headquarters. The awards were not famous in the start but became popular after the fifth PTV Awards ceremony. Wajid Qazi ( ur, ) (26 May 1930– 11 February 2018) was a Pakistani actor. Abdul Qadir Junejo ( sd, عبد القادر جوڻيجو) ( ur, ) (13 September 1945 – 30 March 2020) was a novelist, playwright and columnist who wrote in Sindhi, Urdu and English. Early life Junejo was born in the small village of Jinhan, Tharparkar, Sindh. His father was Mureed Hussain Junejo who was a police officer. Junejo received his primary education in his native village of Jinhan. He then attended the University of Sindh where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Arts in sociology. Career In 1962, Junejo started working as a primary school teacher, becoming a secondary school teacher in 1972. He was then appointed Director at the Institute of Sindhology, Jamshoro.
