Karaman Province ( tr, ) is a province of south-central Turkey. It has an area of . A 2010 estimate puts the population at 232,633 people. According to the 2000 census, the population was 243,210. The population density is 27.54 people/km. The traffic code is 70. The capital is the city of Karaman. Karaman was the location of the Karamanid Beylik, which came to an end in 1486. Ermenek Dam
The Ermenek Dam is a double-curvature concrete arch dam located on the Göksu River in Karaman Province, Turkey. The tall dam ( from thalweg level) was the highest in Turkey at the time of its construction and currently ranks third after Deriner Dam and Yusufeli Dam. The development was backed by the Turkish State Hydraulic Works. Completed in 2009, the primary purpose of the dam is to support its 300 MW power station. Ermenek Consortium Ermenek Dam was constructed by the Ermenek Consortium that was specially created for this project. Member companies of the Consortium are BM Muhendislik ve Insaat A.S. Taurus Mountains
The Taurus Mountains ( Turkish: ''Toros Dağları'' or ''Toroslar'') are a mountain complex in southern Turkey, separating the Mediterranean coastal region from the central Anatolian Plateau. The system extends along a curve from Lake Eğirdir in the west to the upper reaches of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers in the east. It is a part of the Alpide belt in Eurasia. Görmeli is a village on the hillside of Taurus mountains near Ermenek, Karaman province, Turkey. Geography Görmeli is located in the Karaman Region’s Taurus Mountains range, on the slopes of Taurus mountains. It is on the south-east side of Ermenek town, in the Karaman province. Karadağ (literally: ''Black mountain'') is an extinct volcano in Karaman Province, Turkey. Binbirkilise (literally: Thousand and One Churches) is a region in the antique Lycaonia, in modern Karaman Province of Turkey, known for its around fifty Byzantine church ruins. The region is located on the northern slopes of the volcano Karadağ, around north of the province capital city of Karaman. Akçaşehir, Karaman
Akçaşehir is a belde (town) in the central district (Karaman) of Karaman Province, Turkey. At it is northeast of Karaman. The population is of Akçaşehir is 2409. as of 2010 . Akçaşehir is an old settlement. According to mayor's page the foundation date of the town may be 5000 years ago (Bronze Age). During the early Middle Ages it was a part of the Byzantine Empire. Sudurağı is a belde (town) in the central district (Karaman) of Karaman Province, Turkey. Situated in the vast Central Anatolia plains at it is north east of Karaman.
