Kapotaksha Express ( bn, কপোতাক্ষ এক্সপ্রেস) (Tr 715/716) is a Bangladeshi Intercity train service runs between the two western cities of Bangladesh Khulna and Rajshahi. History The first inaugural run of Kapotaksha Express was on 1 May 1986. In 1988 the service was temporarily stopped. In late 1989 the service started again from Khulna to Rajshahi. Initially this train halted only in Jessore, Chuadanga and Ishwardi. Now it has 15 stoppages in between the routes. This train was named after the river Kapotaksha. Schedule This train departs Khulna at 6:15am and reaches Rajshahi at 12:20pm. The returning journey starts at 2:10pm by departing Rajshahi. Indian Locomotive Class WDM-3A
The Indian locomotive class WDM-3A is a class of diesel–electric locomotive that was developed in 1993 by Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), Varanasi for Indian Railways. The model name stands for broad gauge (W), Diesel (D), Mixed traffic (M) engine, with 3300 horsepower (3A). The WDM-3A is a later classification of earlier WDM-2C. They entered service in 1994. A total of 143+ were built at ALCO and Banaras Locomotive Works between 1994 and 2003 with rest of the 1246 units being rebuilt from WDM-2 which made them the most numerous class of mainline diesel locomotive until the WDG-4. The WDM-3A is one of the most successful locomotives of Indian Railways serving both passenger and freight trains for over 26 years. Natore district is a district of Rajshahi Division located in northern Bangladesh. It borders the metropolitan city of Rajshahi, and used to be part of Rajshahi district.
