Kapilavai Lingamurthy
Kapilavai Lingamurthy; 31 March 1928 – 6 November 2018) was an Indian Telugu poet and writer from Mahabubnagar District of Telangana. Early life Kapilavai Lingamurthy was born on 31 March 1928 in Jinukunta, Mahabubnagar district of Telangana state (formerly Hyderabad state). His father Kapilavai Venkatachalam died when Lingamurthy was 3 years old. Following this, he moved to his maternal uncle's home. It was here he developed the interest in literature from his maternal uncle Chepooru Peddalakshmaiah from Amrabad near Achampet. Studies and career Lingamurthy graduated from Osmania University- Hyderabad with a Master of Arts in Telugu literature. He was a teacher and lecturer by profession. Lingamurthy joined as a teacher in Nagarkurnool national high school on 11 July 1954 and later trained in MOL (Master of Oriental Learning). He joined in Sri Venkateshwara Oriental College, Palem, as a history lecturer on 19 August 1972. He retired on 28 February 1983. Personal life ... Mahabubnagar
Mahabubnagar is a city in Mahabubnagar District of the Indian state of Telangana named after the 6th Nizam, Mahboob Ali Khan. It is the headquarters of Mahabubnagar mandal in Mahabubnagar revenue division. The city is also the largest in the district with an area of and 7th most populous in the state. Burgula Ramakrishna Rao
Dr. Burgula Ramakrishna Rao (13 March 1899 – 15 September 1967) was the second and last Chief Minister of the erstwhile Hyderabad State. Prior to the independence of India and the political integration of the princely states into the Union, he was among the Telugu-speaking leaders to resist the Nizam in the princely state of Hyderabad. He was a multi lingual academic, known for his scholardhip in Sanskrit and Telugu. He was also a poet and translator ( his works may be cited). Charles Phillip Brown
Charles Philip Brown (10 November 1798 – 12 December 1884) was a British official of the East India Company. He worked in what is now Andhra Pradesh, and became an important scholarly figure in Telugu language literature. Background Telugu literature was in a dormant phase in the 18th century, for a number of social and political reasons - a lack of creative Telugu poets, prevailing illiteracy and the decline of the Vijayanagara Empire as patrons of Telugu literature. Brown, as official in the region, collected and edited works. He believed he had saved the heritage of the Telugu language. In his own words, "Telugu literature was dying out; the flame was flickering in the socket. In 1825, I found Telugu literature dead. In 30 years I raised it to life". Srisailam is a census town in Nandyal district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the mandal headquarters of Srisailam mandal in Atmakur revenue division.
