Biezelinge
Biezelinge is a neighbourhood of Kapelle and former village in the Netherlands, Dutch municipality of Kapelle (province of Zeeland). The village is separated from Kapelle by a rail transport, railroad. The two villages share a train station. In 1978, Biezelinge and Kapelle were considered a single village by the postal authorities. Since 2021, there are no longer specific statistics for Biezelinge. History Biezelinge developed in the Late Middle Ages near a harbour. In 1717, the harbour was dammed by the construction of the Schenkeldijk. The tower Dutch Reformed church was built between 1877 and 1878. In 1908, the medieval church was replaced by an aisleless church. The church is located on the former monastery Jerusalem. Kapelle-Biezelinge is a railway station located in Kapelle and near the housing area of Biezelinge, Netherlands, The Netherlands. Zuid-Beveland
Zuid-Beveland (; "South Beveland") is part of the province of Zeeland in the Netherlands north of the Western Scheldt and south of the Eastern Scheldt. Topography It is a former island, now peninsula, crossed by the Canal through Zuid-Beveland on the west and the Scheldt–Rhine Canal on the east. Wemeldinge
Wemeldinge is the oldest village in the Zuid-Beveland area of the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is located in the municipality of Kapelle, about 4 km northwest of Yerseke. It is located within the Eastern Scheldt national park. History The village was first mentioned in 1222 as Gerardus de Wemelbinghe, and means "settlement of the people of Wimeld (person)". Wemeldinge developed in the 11th century on several small ''terp''s (artificial hills). There is a high hill near the village which used to be topped by a wooden tower. The village later expanded towards to dike. The Dutch Reformed church is a double aisled church. The tower was built around 1350. The current spire dates from 1611. The church was enlarged in 1530. Schore, Netherlands
Schore is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is located in the municipality of Kapelle, about 8 km southwest of Goes. The village was first mentioned in 1253 as Dodinus de Scoren, and means "land on water". Schore is a circular church village. Schore was founded after 1150 when a dike was built around Zuid-Beveland. The village was flooded and destroyed in 1248. It was later rebuilt as a small agricultural community. Schore was home to 261 people in 1840. The old centre was destroyed in 1940 by war, and redesigned by Jordanus Roodenburgh. The Dutch Reformed church is an aisleless church was a narrow needle spire which was completed in 1942. Eversdijk
Eversdijk is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is located in the municipality of Kapelle on the island of Zuid-Beveland. It was built in a typical circular style which is fairly common in south Beveland. The coat of arms of Eversdijk contains a sterling silver wild boar of a black Tincture on a loose green sinople soil. History The name comes from an unknown person called Everdeis, who once constructed a dike at this location. The village is built amidst two roads with a path serving as intersection between them. Within the triangle created, a church was built out of the parish of 's-Heer Abtskerke, and dedicated to St. Paul. Jan Cornelis "Jan Kees" de Jager (born 10 February 1969) is a former Dutch politician of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party and businessman.
