Kansas's 32nd Senate District
Kansas's 32nd Senate district is one of 40 districts in the Kansas Senate. It has been represented by Republican Larry Alley since 2017, succeeding fellow Republican Steve Abrams. Geography District 32 spans much of the state's southern edge, including all of Barber, Comanche, Harper, and Sumner Counties, as well as parts of Cowley, Kingman, and Sedgwick Counties. Communities in the district include Arkansas City, Wellington, Anthony, Medicine Lodge, Belle Plaine, Harper, Kiowa, Coldwater, Conway Springs, Caldwell, Oxford, and part of Winfield. The district is located entirely within Kansas's 4th congressional district, and overlaps with the 79th, 80th, 82nd, 93rd, 114th, 115th, and 116th districts of the Kansas House of Representatives. Kansas Senate District 32 (2010)
Kansas () is a state in the Midwestern United States. Its capital is Topeka, and its largest city is Wichita. Kansas is a landlocked state bordered by Nebraska to the north; Missouri to the east; Oklahoma to the south; and Colorado to the west. Kansas is named after the Kansas River, which in turn was named after the Kansa Native Americans who lived along its banks. The tribe's name (natively ') is often said to mean "people of the (south) wind" although this was probably not the term's original meaning. For thousands of years, what is now Kansas was home to numerous and diverse Native American tribes. Tribes in the eastern part of the state generally lived in villages along the river valleys. Belle Plaine is a city in Sumner County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 1,467. History Belle Plaine was founded in 1871. Belle Plaine is a French name meaning "beautiful plain". In 1883, Belle Plaine was a station and shipping point for the Southern Central & Fort Scott Railway. 2020 United States Presidential Election In Kansas
The 2020 United States presidential election in Kansas was held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, as part of the 2020 United States presidential election in which all 50 states plus the District of Columbia participated. Kansas voters chose electors to represent them in the Electoral College via a popular vote, pitting the Republican Party's nominee, incumbent President Donald Trump of Florida, and running mate Vice President Mike Pence of Indiana against Democratic Party nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden of Delaware, and his running mate California Senator Kamala Harris. Kansas has six electoral votes in the Electoral College. 2012 Kansas Elections
The Kansas 2012 general elections were held on November 6, 2012. Primary elections were held on August 7, 2012. U.S. House of Representatives 1st congressional district Republican incumbent Tim Huelskamp, who had represented the 1st district since 2011, won re-election unopposed. 2nd congressional district Republican incumbent Lynn Jenkins, who has represented the 2nd district since 2009, ran for re-election. Tobias Schlingensiepen, a pastor and police chaplain, sought and received the Democratic nomination to challenge Jenkins. Winfield is a city and county seat of Cowley County, Kansas, United States. It is situated along the Walnut River in South Central Kansas.
