Kanpur–Delhi Section
The Kanpur–Delhi section is a railway line connecting and Delhi. This section includes Agra Chord and Etah link. The main line is part of Howrah–Delhi main line and Howrah–Gaya–Delhi line. The Agra–Delhi chord is part of Delhi–Mumbai line and Delhi–Chennai line. History The East Indian Railway Company initiated efforts to develop a railway line from Howrah to Delhi in the mid nineteenth century. Even when the line to Mughalsarai was being constructed and only the lines near Howrah were put in operation, the first train ran from Allahabad to Kanpur in 1859 and the Kanpur–Etawah section was opened to traffic in the 1860s. For the first through train from Howrah to Delhi in 1864, coaches were ferried on boats across the Yamuna at Allahabad. With the completion of the Old Naini Bridge across the Yamuna through trains started running in 1865–66. The Indo-Gangetic Plain, also known as the North Indian River Plain, is a fertile plain encompassing northern regions of the Indian subcontinent, including most of northern and eastern India, around half of Pakistan, virtually all of Bangladesh and southern plains of Nepal. Govindpuri Railway Station
Govindpuri Junction or Kanpur South is a railway station in Kanpur which caters 650,000 passengers to their destinations. It is the third busiest railway station in Kanpur followed by Kanpur Central. On International Women's Day, 2018 Govindpuri became the first railway station in North Central Railway with all-women staff. Kanpur Anwarganj Railway Station
Kanpur Anwarganj is the second-largest railway station in Kanpur Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, India. Structure and layout It has three platforms. It was constructed during the British Raj. It has one big clock on its main building. It is on the Farrukhabad– Kanpur line. Until 2006 it was a metre-gauge station.
