Kankavli (Vidhan Sabha Constituency)
Kankavli Assembly constituency is one of the 288 Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of Maharashtra state in Western India. This Assembly constituency is located in the Sindhudurg district. It is a part of the Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg Lok Sabha constituency, along with five other Vidhan Sabha segments, namely Kudal and Sawantwadi from the Sindhudurg district and Chiplun Sangameshwar, Ratnagiri and Rajapur from the Ratnagiri district. Nitesh Narayan Rane
Nitesh Narayan Rane (born 23 June 1982) is an Indian politician and a member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for the Kankavli vidhansabha constituency. He is the head of the non-governmental organisation "Swabhiman Sanghatana". He is the younger son of former chief minister and senior politician Narayan Rane. Early life Nitesh Rane was born in Bombay (now Mumbai) to Neelam Rane and Narayan Rane, a senior leader from Maharashtra on 23 June 1982. He is an MBA professional and studied in the United Kingdom along with his elder brother Nilesh Narayan Rane, Nilesh. He returned to India to join politics and help his father when his father decided to quit Shiv Sena in 2005 and join Congress. Kankavli is a city in Sindhudurg district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is an important city due to its central location in the Sindhudurg district. All talukas are at an equal distance from Kankavli city. There is a temple of Shri Bhalchandra Maharaj and Swyambhu Ravalnath. The Kankavli city is situated in between two west flowing rivers which carry roaring gushing waters on their rockbed to Arabian sea in monsoon. It is a culturally, educationally and socially rich and vibrant major city. 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Election
The 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on 21 October 2019 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. After a 61.4% turnout in the election, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (SHS) won a majority.
