Kanhai Chitrakar
} Kanhai Chitrakar was an Indian artist and painter, credited with the revival of the heritage painting discipline of ''Kanhai Art'', a method of painting where gold powder, gold leaves and gem stones are used. Kanhai Chitrakar was born in Vrindavan, in Mathura district, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. His career started as an art director for the renowned filmmaker Guru Dutt, but later he returned to Vrindavan where he set up his studio, working in Kanhai art. The studio have since grown to become ''Kanhai Art Works'' where he and his two sons, Krishn Kanhai and Govind Kanhai, worked producing art works. Krishna is a recipient of the Padma Shri award and Gobind has received the Uttar Pradesh State Ratna Award. Govind Kanhai (born 7 July 1964) is an Indian artist and painter. He completed his post graduation in philosophy from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University formerly known as Agra University. Introduction Kanhai is known for his innovative techniques in oil paints, involving the use of pure gold leaf and sparkling gems. He has painted for more than 30 years and undertakes figure work, Bhava Darshan and embossing. Working with his family, he has revived the significance of tradition of gold paintings. Krishn Kanhai, born on 21 August 1961, is an Indian artist and painter, specialist in portrait, realistic, contemporary paintings and on lord Radha-Krishna theme paintings. A Padmshri awardee, Kanhai is described as an artist with the midas touch. Introduction Krishn Kanhai is a master in contemporary, portrait as well as traditional gold painting. He has, however, not confined himself to the traditional alone but has also introduced certain significant techniques of his own that makes the canvas aesthetically appealing and spiritually rich.
