Viktor Kanevskyi
Viktor Izrailyovych (Illich) Kanevskyi ( ua, Віктор Ізраїльович Каневський, russian: Виктор Израилевич Каневский; 3 October 1936 – 25 November 2018) was a Ukrainian and Soviet football player and coach. He was Jewish. Biography Since his early years Kanevskyi was involved in various sports including ice skating, volleyball as well as football. During his student years he played for Kyiv's junior volleyball team. He also was invited by Dynamo's scout and junior team coach Mykhailo Korsunsky for try-outs. Due to hardship in the postwar years, Kanevskyi started to work before his 16th birthday as a carver at the Kyiv Arsenal. At the factory he was making engravings on photo cameras in Kyiv. As a hobby he also played for a factory team, Mashynobudivnyk (predecessor of FC Arsenal Kyiv) that was coached by Livshyts. During that period Kanevskyi also played for Ukraine's junior team. Victor Kanevsky (dancer)
Victor Zoryevich Kanevsky (russian: Ви́ктор Зо́рьевич Кане́вский , born 24 November 1963 in Kiev, in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union) is a ballroom dancer, coach, and choreographer. He emigrated to the United States in 1978 and, as of 2013, lives in Miami, Florida. Kanevsky won a number of dance competitions, including the Eastern United States, the Middle United States, and the California Star Ball Championships, the 1987 and 1988 titles of Ohio Star Ball Champion (of PBS television’s Championship Ballroom Dancing fame), as well as reached the finals of both the USBC (US Open Dancesport Championships) and La Classique du Quebec (Canadian Open Championships). Giselle Andrea Kañevsky (born August 4, 1985, in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine field hockey player who plays as a defender on the Argentina national team. Kañevsky is Jewish She started playing at age seven in ''Los Cardales'' Club, moving to Náutico Hacoaj three years later. In 2005, she was part of the National Junior Championship, and a year later had her debut with the senior team, finishing third at the World Cup. Alex Kanevsky (born 1963) is a painter currently based in Tamworth, New Hampshire. His works combine abstraction and figuration in multilayered portraits that capture movement and the constant flow of time, resisting adherence to a single moment. Kanevsky's work is rooted in the artistic traditions of Eastern Europe, where he grew up, and the United States, where he now lives. Meyer Kanewsky ( yi, מאיר קאנעווסקי, between 1878 and 1881? – June 10, 1924) was a cantor, lyric tenor, and recording artist of the early twentieth century. Between 1912 and 1918, he performed, arranged or produced more than 130 sides of Cantorial music, Klezmer music, and Yiddish, Ukrainian, and Russian music for Victor Records, Columbia Records and Edison Records.
