Kanji
are the logographic Chinese characters taken from the Chinese family of scripts, Chinese script and used in the writing of Japanese language, Japanese. Kimotsuki Kanetake
Kimotsuki Kanetake (肝付兼武) (1823–1888) was a retainer, and scholar for the Shimazu clan of southern Kyushu during the late Edo period Early life Kanetake was born the son of Kanekiyo, who hailed from Kushikino, Hioki district in Satsuma Province.According to the biography of Kanetake and his line compiled and published in 1937 by Hirose Yutaka assisted by Kaneyuki's son the 2nd Baron Kanefusa and Kaneyuki's cousin Kaneyasu. Kanetake's great-grandfather Kanekata formed a branch family from his main one and lived in Jokamachi as a stipended lower-ranked retainer. Kanekata died during the Tenmei era (1781). Kanetake's grandfather Kaneoki died in 1811 and when Kanetake was born (1823), Kanekiyo his father was still a low stipended bushi living in a modest house below Kagoshima Castle. Ōura Kanetake
was a politician and bureaucrat in late Meiji and early Taishō period Empire of Japan. In 1907, he was raised to the rank and title of ''danshaku'' (baron) under the ''kazoku'' peerage system. Early life The Ōura family was hereditary retainers to a branch of the Shimazu clan of Satsuma Domain. As a Satsuma samurai, Ōura Kanetaka participated in the Boshin War and the suppression of the Ōuetsu Reppan Dōmei during the Meiji Restoration. Under the new Meiji government, he joined the fledgling Japanese police force, working his way up through the ranks until he became Assistant Police Inspector of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. In this capacity, he was field commander of the police forces sent to assist the fledgling Imperial Japanese Army in suppressing his fellow Satsuma countrymen in the Satsuma Rebellion.
