Kaneland High School, or KHS, is a public four-year high school located in Maple Park, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago, United States. It is part of Kaneland Community Unit School District 302. History Kaneland first opened in 1958. In ''Molitor v. Kaneland Community Unit District 302'', Illinois opened up school districts to civil lawsuits. The case was over a bus crash during the early years of the school. The father of a student injured in the crash sued for $56,000. The court stated that public school districts should not be immune from civil tort action. Academics Kaneland's graduating class of 2014 had an average composite ACT score of 22.2, the highest in the school's history, and graduated 100.0% of its senior class. Maple Park is a village in DeKalb and Kane counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. The population was 1,310 at the 2010 census, up from 765 in 2000. Maple Park was formerly known as Lodi. History Maple Park was originally called "Lodi", after Lodi, Lombardy. The present name comes from a nearby grove of sugar maple trees. A post office called "Lodi" was established first in 1837, and the post office was renamed "Maple Park" in 1880. Geography Maple Park is located at (41.908514, -88.597989), with the majority of the population in Kane County but with more area in DeKalb County. Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water (e.g., in a sea or lake). Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with varied distance events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley. Leah Hayes (born October 21, 2005) is an American swimmer, currently swimming for the Illinois-based team Fox Valley Park District Riptides. She is a 200 m individual medley and 400 m individual medley Champion in 2023 World Junior Championships, also win gold medalist in 4×200 m freestyle, silver medalist in 4×100 m freestyle with bronze medalist in 200 m freestyle. Casey Crosby (born September 17, 1988) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is currently a free agent. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers. Don Beebe
Donald Lee Beebe (born December 18, 1964) is an American football former wide receiver and coach who is the head football coach at Aurora University. He previously played in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons, primarily with the Buffalo Bills. In addition to his six seasons with the Bills, who selected him in the third round of the 1989 NFL Draft, he was a member of the Carolina Panthers during their inaugural season and played for the Green Bay Packers in his last two seasons.
