Kampong Beribi () or commonly known as Beribi, is a village in Brunei-Muara District, Brunei, as well as a neighbourhood in the capital Bandar Seri Begawan. The population was 5,679 in 2016. Name The name of the village Beribi comes from the name of the plant beribi-beribi''' which grows in abundance in the rivers in the village so that it can be used as a bridge. What is unique about the tree is that it only grows in Beribi River and Sunda River. The shape of the 'ribbed' plant is like a fragrant pandan leaf tree, thorny and has fruit with very hard roots. It has fragrant leaves which are used widely for flavouring in the cuisines of Southeast Asia and South Asia. Subdivisions Of Brunei
The administrative divisions of Brunei mainly consist of ''daerah'' (districts), ''mukim'' (subdistricts) and ''kampung'' or ''kampong'' (villages).
