Kammeri
Kammeri is a village in Kambja Parish, Tartu County in southern Estonia, located about 23 km south of the city of Tartu. (retrieved 28 July 2021) In 2000 Kammeri had a population of 92. Kammeri Manor (german: Gut Dückershof) was first mentioned in the middle of the 16th century, when it belonged to the Dücker family, Dückers. Other owners include the Fersens, Rennenkampffs, Helmersens and Staden (noble family), Stadens. After the dispossession in 1919 the manor building was used as a school. The building was demolished in 2009 to build a modern schoolhouse. Kammeri village school was established in 1765. Baltic German geologist Gregor von Helmersen (1803–1885) was born in Kammeri Manor. Also the German diplomat Berndt von Staden (:de:Berndt von Staden, de) (born 1919) spent his childhood in the manor. Gregor Von Helmersen
Gregor von Helmersen or Grigory Petrovich Helmersen (russian: Григорий Петрович Гельмерсен, – ) was a Baltic German geologist. Biography Helmersen was born in Duckershof, Livonia (now in Estonia) and went to boarding school in St. Petersburg. He graduated from the University of Dorpat in 1825 and joined the finance ministry. He accompanied Alexander von Humboldt into the Orenburg region and was recommended, along with E.K. Hoffman, by the minister E.F. Kankrin to be sent for higher education. The two travelled and listened to lectures in the universities of Berlin, Heidelberg, and Bonn. In 1835 he was put in the Corps of Mining Engineers and in 1838 he became professor of geology in the Mining Institute at Saint Petersburg of which he was also director. Rennenkampff was a noble Baltic nobility, Baltic German family. It was of Westphalian origin and originated in Osnabrück. They held the title of ''Edler''. Berndt Robert Alexander Michael von Staden (24 June 1919 – 17 October 2014) was a German diplomat who was the West German Ambassador to the United States from 1973 until 1979. Life Von Staden grew up as a Baltic German in Tallinn, Estonia. He studied law in Bonn and Hamburg. In 1951, he joined the Foreign Office. He was head of the Consular Section of the West German Embassy in Brussels, from 1953 to 1955. In 1958, he was posted to the Commission of the European Economic Community. In 1961, he married Wendelgard, Freiin von Neurath (born 1926). In 1963, he was Counsellor at the West German Embassy in Washington. Staden (noble Family)
Staden (; vls, Stoan) is a village and rural municipality in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality has around 11 000 inhabitants. In the local West-Flemish dialect, the ''d'' is not pronounced, which results in ''Stoan'' as pronunciation. Geography In 1976, Staden fused with the smaller villages of Oostnieuwkerke and Westrozebeke into a single municipality. As Staden was the bigger village, its name was used for the resulting municipality. Next to those three village centres, there are also a number of smaller hamlets.
