Kamloops Chiefs
The Kamloops Chiefs were a junior ice hockey team based in Kamloops, British Columbia that played in the Western Canada Hockey League from 1973–77. They were founded in 1971 as the Vancouver Nats, and relocated to Seattle, Washington to become the Seattle Breakers in 1977. Kamloops, British Columbia
Kamloops ( ) is a city in south-central British Columbia, Canada, at the confluence of the South flowing North Thompson River and the West flowing Thompson River, east of Kamloops Lake. It is located in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, whose district offices are based here. The surrounding region is sometimes referred to as the Thompson Country. The city was incorporated in 1893 with about 500 residents. The Canadian Pacific Railroad was completed through downtown in 1886, and the Canadian National arrived in 1912, making Kamloops an important transportation hub. With a 2021 population of 97,902, it is the twelfth largest municipality in the province. Reg Kerr
Reginald John Kerr (born October 16, 1957) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player. He played in the National Hockey League with the Cleveland Barons, Chicago Black Hawks, and Edmonton Oilers between 1977 and 1984. Playing career Born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan, Kerr was drafted in the third round, 41st overall in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft by the Cleveland Barons, but only played seven games for the Barons before he was traded to the Chicago Black Hawks for Randy Holt. Kerr spent five seasons with the Black Hawks and scored a career-high 30 goals and 30 assists during the 1980-81 season. He left in 1982 and spent a season in the American Hockey League for the Springfield Indians before signing with the Edmonton Oilers, but he was assigned back to the AHL with the Moncton Alpines and played just three games for the Oilers. Tim Watters
Timothy John Watters (born July 25, 1959) is a Canadian former ice hockey defenceman. Tim Watters was a rarity in the National Hockey League (NHL), a physical defenceman who stood under 6 feet tall and under 200 pounds. He played in 2 Olympics and well over 700 NHL games, quietly playing a solid though unspectacular role from 1981 through 1995 with the Winnipeg Jets and Los Angeles Kings, two teams that didn't enjoy much success or fanfare. Not having the size to out-muscle opponents, Watters learned to be in perfect position and angled shooters out of harm's way. He read the oncoming rushes very well, and thanklessly cut off passing lanes and blocked shots. He learned to tie up players' sticks and was one of the few modern players to master the hip check. He retired from the NHL as a player after the 1995 season. Ryan Walter
Ryan William Walter (born April 23, 1958) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played 15 seasons in the National Hockey League. He was also an assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks, head coach of the Canadian National Women's hockey team, a hockey broadcaster and president of the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League. Early life Walter was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, but grew up in Burnaby, British Columbia. As a youth, he played in the 1971 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Burnaby. NHL career Walter was drafted second overall by the Washington Capitals in the 1978 NHL Amateur Draft. Alec Mansfield Tidey (born January 5, 1955) is a former professional ice hockey right wing. He was drafted in the eighth round, 143rd overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft. Taylor played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Washington Capitals. Rocky Ray Saganiuk (born October 15, 1957) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played 259 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins. Playing career Born in Myrnam, Alberta, Saganiuk played junior hockey for the Kamloops Chiefs and Lethbridge Broncos. He was drafted in 1977 by the Edmonton Oilers of the World Hockey Association (WHA) and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Errol Attilio Rausse (born May 18, 1959) is a Canadian former ice hockey player. Rausse was born in Quesnel, British Columbia. Larry Playfair
Larry William Playfair (born June 23, 1958) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. Playfair had a reputation as being a hard-working, pugnacious defender. He played for the Buffalo Sabres and Los Angeles Kings in the NHL and he has worked as a color analyst for Sabres television broadcasts since his 1990 retirement due to chronic back problems. His younger brother Jim Playfair shares a lot of the same characteristics - both were drafted in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft (Larry in 1978 and Jim in 1982), and both played junior hockey for the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League. However, Larry played 688 career NHL games; Jim a mere 21. Playfair currently lives on Grand Island, New York. Andy Moog
Donald Andrew Moog (; born February 18, 1960) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Moog played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens, and also for the Canadian national team. Moog is a three-time Stanley Cup champion: 1984, 1985 and 1987. He earned the William M. Jennings Trophy in the 1989–90 NHL season for fewest total goals against the team during the regular season, sharing the trophy with his goaltending partner, Reggie Lemelin. Moog spent the 2009–10 season as an assistant coach for the Dallas Stars.
