Kamil Patel
Kamil Patel (born 3 April 1979) is a Mauritian former professional tennis player. Patel, a three-time gold medalist at the Indian Ocean Island Games, played Davis Cup for Mauritius between 2000 and 2007, for a team record 18 career wins. In 2010 he represented Mauritius at the Commonwealth Games in both singles and mixed doubles, reaching the quarter-finals of the latter. While competing on the professional tour he had best rankings of 570 in singles and 328 in doubles. He won two ITF Futures titles in doubles. Since 2013 he has served as president of the Mauritius Tennis Federation. Indian Ocean Island Games
The Indian Ocean Island Games (french: Jeux des îles de l'océan Indien) is a quadrennial multi-sport event from Indian Ocean island nations. The Games was created by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1977 and currently gather the island nations and territories of Mauritius, Seychelles, Comoros, Madagascar, Mayotte, Réunion and the Maldives. The number of athletes who participate has increased over the years, it went from 1000 athletes in 1979 to over 1500 participants in 2003 and 2007 and over 2000 participants in 2019. Origins From 1947 until 1963, a precursor called Indian Ocean Games Triangulaire was organized between Madagascar, Mauritius and Réunion. Mounir El Aarej
Mounir El Aarej (born 16 June 1977) is a former professional tennis player from Morocco. Biography A regular Davis Cup player for Morocco during his career, El Aarej made his debut in 1996, for a World Group qualifier against Switzerland in Olten. He won a bronze medal in the doubles at the 2001 Mediterranean Games (with Mehdi Tahiri) and was a quarter-finalist in the singles draw. In 2002 he beat a young Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals of a Futures tournament in Gandia. He also had a win that year in the Davis Cup over Switzerland's Michel Kratochvil, who was at the time ranked in the world's top 40. Jean-Christophe Faurel (born 6 March 1981) is a former professional tennis player from France. He has been Coco Gauff's coach since March 2019, four months before her Wimbledon breakthrough, where she defeated Venus Williams in at age 15, before reaching the fourth round. Career Faurel was a boys' singles quarter-finalist at the 1999 Australian Open. In 2006, he appeared in three Grand Slam tournaments.
