Kamienica (architecture)
A tenement is a type of building shared by multiple dwellings, typically with flats or apartments on each floor and with shared entrance stairway access. They are common on the British Isles, particularly in Scotland. In the medieval Old Town, Edinburgh, Old Town, in Edinburgh, tenements were developed with each apartment treated as a separate house, built on top of each other (such as Gladstone's Land). Over hundreds of years, custom grew to become law concerning maintenance and repairs, as first formally discussed in James Dalrymple, 1st Viscount of Stair, Stair's 1681 writings on Scots property law. Kamienica, Bielsko-Biała
Kamienica (german: Kamitz) is an osiedle (district) of Bielsko-Biała, Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. Historically it was a separate village but was merged into the city in 1968. The osiedle has an area of 7.1005 km2 and on December 31, 2006 had 4,910 inhabitants. The name is of topographic origin and is derived from stones (Polish adjective kamienny). History The village was first mentioned in a Latin document of Diocese of Wrocław called '' Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis'' from around 1305 as ''item in Kemnitz''. It meant that the village was in the process of location (the size of land to pay a tithe from was not yet precised). The creation of the village was a part of a larger settlement campaign taking place in the late 13th century on the territory of what will be later known as Upper Silesia. Kamienica (river)
Kamienica is a river in the Gorce Mountains, partly on the border with the Beskids, the left tributary of the Dunajec River. It squeezes through a deep valley between the slopes of Mostownica and Jaworzyna Kamienicka, flowing through a ravine 8-12 m deep. In the vicinity of the Borek Pass it bends sharply to the east, causing strong erosion of the slopes of this pass. This is an attractive tourist area. In its upper reaches (to Rivers) it flows within the boundaries of the Gorce National Park. Marked here, through the valley of Kamienica blue trail to Borek pass. Below Rzki Kamienica flows down a deep and narrow valley between Gorceñska Kiczora Kamienicka and Wielki Wierch on the one hand, and the Beskid massif of Jasień and Mogielica on the other.
