Kameshwar Paswan
Kameshwar Paswan (1941-2018) was a politician from Bihar state of India and was a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party. He was a former state minister and a former member of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha. He was elected to Bihar Legislative Assembly first time in 1972 as a candidate of Bharatiya Jan Sangh . Later in 1977 he was again elected to the assembly and served as minister for welfare in Government of Bihar until 1979. Paswan got elected to Rajya Sabha in 1990 and served as its member until 1996. In the same year he was elected to Lok Sabha from Nawada. He studied MA from Ramdayalu Singh College and Langat Singh College in Muzaffarpur. He was a teacher by profession. The Lok Sabha, constitutionally the House of the People, is the lower house of India's bicameral Parliament, with the upper house being the Rajya Sabha. Members of the Lok Sabha are elected by an adult universal suffrage and a first-past-the-post system to represent their respective constituencies, and they hold their seats for five years or until the body is dissolved by the President on the advice of the council of ministers. Jayaprakash Narayan (; 11 October 1902 – 8 October 1979), popularly referred to as JP or ''Lok Nayak'' (Hindi for "People's leader"), was an Indian independence activist, theorist, socialist and political leader. The JP movement also known as Bihar Movement was a political movement initiated by students in the Indian state of Bihar in 1974 and led by the veteran Gandhian socialist Jayaprakash Narayan, popularly known as JP, against misrule and corruption in the state government.
