Kamal Haydar
Kamal Haydar (1933–1980) was a short story writer from southern Yemen.Biographical note in p.538, ''The Literature of Modern Arabia'', ed. Salma Khadra Jayyusi, 1988 He was noted for his stories that dealt with social issues in Yemen. He published a collection of his short stories, ''Signpost'' (1978), only two years before his death. Yemen (; ar, ٱلْيَمَن, al-Yaman), officially the Republic of Yemen,, ) is a country in Western Asia. Salma Khadra Jayyusi
Salma Khadra Jayyusi ( ar, سلمى الخضراء الجيوسي; born 1926 or 1927) is a Palestinian poet, writer, translator and anthologist. She is the founder and director of the Project of Translation from Arabic (PROTA), which aims to provide translation of Arabic literature into English. Life Salma Khadra Jayyusi was born in Safed to a Palestinian father, the Arab nationalist Subhi al-Khadra, and a Lebanese mother. Attending secondary school in Jerusalem, she studied Arabic and English literature at the American University of Beirut.
