Jacqui Kalin (born January 27, 1989) is an American-Israeli former college and professional basketball 5-foot-8 point guard. In college at the University of Northern Iowa, she set the free throw percentage NCAA Division 1 career record, and was twice named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year. She played two years of professional basketball in Israel, and played for the Israel women's national basketball team. Early and personal life Kalin was born in Sioux City, Iowa, to Bruce and Linda Kalin, and is Jewish. She has two brothers, Michael and J.B., and a sister, Jenna. Tom Kalin (born 1962) is a screenwriter, film director, producer, and professor of experimental film at European Graduate School in Saas-Fee. His debut feature, '' Swoon'', is considered an integral part of the New Queer Cinema. In addition to his feature work, Kalin has created a number of short films, many of which are collected in the compilations ''Behold Goliath or The Boy With the Filthy Laugh'', ''Third Known Nest'' and ''Tom Kalin Videoworks: Volume 2''. Much of Kalin's work touches on issues of homosexuality (both modern-day and historical) and AIDS. He was a member of two AIDS direct action groups, ACT UP and Gran Fury. Boris Kalin
Boris Kalin (24 June 1905 – 22 May 1975) was a Slovene sculptor. He mainly created classical figures, public monuments, and nudes. Some of his sculptures are kept at Brdo Castle as part of its collection of modern Slovene art. Biography Kalin was born in Solkan, which was then a suburb of the Austro-Hungarian town of Gorizia and is now part of Nova Gorica, Slovenia. He attended the technical secondary school in Ljubljana and continued his studies between 1924 and 1929 at the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts with the professors Rudolf Valdec, Frano Kršinić, Ivo Kredić, and Ivan Meštrović. From 1945 to 1970, Kalin taught sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana; he was also its dean for two terms. He taught many younger colleagues that became prominent European artists. Jeremy N. Kalin (born January 3, 1975) is a Minnesota politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), he represented District 17B, northeast of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Yngve Kalin (born May 2, 1950, in Växjö, Sweden) is a Swedish priest in Hyssna and one of the leaders of the traditionalist movement in the Church of Sweden. The Kalin Twins (born February 16, 1934), also known as Hal and Herbie, were an American pop singing, songwriting and recording duo, formed in 1958 by twin brothers Harold Kalin and Herbert Kalin. The duo is best remembered for their number one 1958 hit " When". Career The twins were born in Port Jervis, New York, but the family later moved to Washington, D.C. Originally discovered by Clint Ballard Jr., the writer of many hit records such as " Good Timin'" for Jimmy Jones, and " I'm Alive" for The Hollies, the sibling duo had a couple of early recording flops.
