Alexandre Kalil (Belo Horizonte; March 25, 1959) is a Brazilian politician and sports administrator. He served as mayor of Belo Horizonte from 2017 to 2022. He served as president of Clube Atlético Mineiro, a football club based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil that competes in Campeonato Brasileiro, the top tier of the Brazilian football league system, as well as in the Campeonato Mineiro, the premier state league of Minas Gerais. Alexandre Kalil is the president under whom the club has won more official trophies, with six, including its only Copa Libertadores and Recopa Sudamericana. He was succeeded by Daniel Nepomuceno, who took over as president of the club in 2014. Alexandre is the only son of former club president Elias Kalil. Ariel Kalil (born July 18, 1969) is a behavioral economist and developmental psychologist at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, currently serving as the director of the Center for Human Potential and Public Policy. She studies economic conditions, parenting, and child development. She is an expert in using tools from behavioral economics to influence parenting behavior. Pro career Kalil was drafted in the 11th round with the 298th pick in the 1982 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills as an offensive guard. Kalil played professionally in the USFL.
