Kalevi Tuominen
Kalevi Vilho Tapio ”Kallu” Tuominen (9 August 1927 – 23 January 2020) was a Finnish basketball coach and player and sports executive, who also played handball and football at the national top-tier level as well as practiced many other sports. He worked as the overall head coach of Finnish Olympic Committee between 1969 and 1992. In basketball, the Jantunen played his whole SM-sarja career for Tampereen Pyrintö and also coached the team between 1960 and 1964. He was capped 11 times as a player and was a long-time head coach of Finland men's national team in its peak era. During Tuominen's coaching years 1955–1969 Finland qualified for 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (the only Finnish ball game team still in 2016 that has advanced to Olympics through qualification), where it placed 11th, and played in seven EuroBaskets (1955 uominen as player-coach 1957, 1959, 1961, 1963, 1965 and 1967). Vesilahti
Vesilahti ( sv, Vesilahti, also ) is a municipality of Finland. It is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . The municipality is unilingually Finnish. The name of municipality literally means "water bay". The Vesilahti municipality headlined the case of "pink house", which is owned one of local inhabitants, Katri Hakola. The municipality didn't agree with her color choice and threatened the homeowner with a 5,000 € penalty if the color of the house didn't change. Later, the municipality tended to accept only a slight change in color and abolished the penalty payment. The 1955 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 1955, was the ninth FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship, held by FIBA. The 1956 European Women's Basketball Championship was the 5th regional championship held by FIBA Europe for women. The competition was held in Prague, Czechoslovakia and took place June 2–10, 1956. The Soviet Union won their fourth consecutive gold medal, with Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria repeating their performance of the previous tournament, winning silver and bronze respectively.
