Kaleida (band)
Kaleida are an English-German duo formed in 2013. The band consists of vocalist Christina Wood and keyboardist Cicely Goulder. Kaleida released their debut EP, ''Think'', in 2015, followed by ''Detune'' in 2016. This was followed by their first album, ''Tear the Roots'', in 2017 and ''Odyssey'' in 2020. Their third album, ''In Arms'', came out in 2024. In 2014, the band's title track from their debut EP appeared on the soundtrack of the action film ''John Wick''. They have been featured on numerous other TV shows, Netflix series, and the movie ''Atomic Blonde''. History 2013–2015: Formation and ''Think'' Kaleida formed in 2013, when Wood and Goulder were introduced by a mutual friend through email. At the time, Wood had been at work in the forests of Borneo, while Goulder had been in the film industry. John R. Oishei Children's Hospital (viewed from Ellicott Street in 2017) Kaleida Health, founded in 1998, is a not-for-profit healthcare network that manages five hospitals in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area. Prior to the merger of member hospitals into the network, it was known as the Millard Fillmore Health System. Facilities Kaleida Health runs the Buffalo General Medical Center, a hospital on the premises of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. It was founded on its current site in the mid-19th century and has undergone expansions ever since, including one in 1986 that added a 16-story tower to the main complex. The hospital had 24,000 inpatient visits in 2016. The interior lobby was remodeled and the exterior of the building was repainted in 2018 to match the color scheme of newer facilities on the campus at a cost of $2 million. Kaleida Labs
Kaleida Labs formed in 1991 to produce the multimedia cross-platform Kaleida Media Player and the object oriented scripting language ScriptX that was used to program its behavior. The system was aimed at the production of interactive CD ROM titles, an area of major effort in the early 1990s. When the system was delivered in 1994, it had relatively high system requirements and memory footprint, and lacked a native PowerPC version on the Mac platform. Around the same time, rapid changes in the market, especially the expansion of the World Wide Web and the Java programming language, pushed the interactive CD market into a niche role. The Kaleida platform failed to gain significant traction and the company was closed in 1996.
