Kakkodi
Kakkodi is a Panchayath in Kozhikode district of Kerala. The Panchayath borders Kozhikode corporation on one side and the panchayaths kuruvattur, Chelannur, thalakkulathur and Elathur, on the other sides. Population As per the 2001 census reports the total population is 36,096 with 17,379 men and 18,717 women and the population growth is +20.22. The sex ratio is 1077 women to 1000 men. Demographics Hindu constitute majority of the population, followed by the muslim communities. Education Kakkodi panchayath has a couple of LP, UP and high Schools. Makkada
Makkada is a village in Kakkodi panchayath in Kozhikode district, Calicut district of Kerala state. Geographically Makkada covers about half the size of the kakkodi Panchayath and situates north of the Panchayath. Unlike many other villages in Kerala there isn't a town called Makkada in this village, but there are a couple of institutions which carry the name, the post office and an LP school. References
