Kaki Bukit Constituency was a single member constituency (SMC) in Bedok, Singapore; carved from Kampong Chai Chee division in prior to 1980 Singaporean general election, 1980 elections and was absorbed into the Eunos GRC on 1988 Singaporean general election, 1988 elections. In 1984, Tan Chee Kien was offered the non-constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) seat after Madai Puthan Damodaran Nair, a Workers' Party of Singapore, Workers' Party candidate in Jalan Kayu Constituency had declined the offered NCMP seat. Bedok
Bedok () is a planning area and matured residential town located in the geographical region of Tanah Merah along the south-eastern coast of the East Region of Singapore. Bedok is bounded by five other planning areas: Paya Lebar to the north, Hougang to the northwest, Tampines to the northeast and east, Geylang to the west and Marine Parade to the southwest. It also shares a maritime boundary with the Singapore Strait to the south and southeast. Population wise, Bedok is the largest planning area in the country, being home to approximately 280,000 residents. 1980 Singaporean General Election
General elections were held in Singapore on 23 December 1980. The result was a victory for the People's Action Party, which won all 75 seats, the last of four consecutive elections in which they repeated the feat. Voter turnout was 95.5%, although this figure represents the turnout in the 38 constituencies to be contested, with PAP candidates earning walkovers in the other 37. 685,141 voters out of the total electorate of 1,290,426 went to vote on the elections. Eunos Group Representation Constituency ( Simplified Chinese: 友诺士集选区; Traditional Chinese: 友諾士集選區) is a defunct Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the north-eastern region of Singapore. This GRC existed for the 1988 and 1991 general election before being absorbed into Aljunied GRC and the brand new East Coast GRC for the 1997 general election. Eunos GRC was won narrowly by the People's Action Party in both the 1988 and 1991 General Elections. General elections were held in Singapore on 3 September 1988. President of Singapore, President Wee Kim Wee dissolved parliament on 17 August 1988 on the advice of Prime Minister of Singapore, Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. Jalan Kayu Constituency was a single member constituency in Jalan Kayu, Singapore, between 1959 and 1988. Formation and dissolution After the 1951 election, the present Jalan Kayu Single Member Constituency constituted the majority of the Seletar ward; that ward was dissolved prior to the 1959 election, producing the Jalan Kayu ward, the then Thomson ward, and small parts of Nee Soon ward. Following its dissolution in 1988, Jalan Kayu was incorporated into the new Cheng San Group Representation Constituency. The People's Action Party (abbreviation: PAP) is a major conservative centre-right political party in Singapore and is one of the three contemporary political parties represented in Parliament, alongside the opposition Workers' Party (WP) and Progress Singapore Party (PSP). Chew Heng Ching
Chewing or mastication is the process by which food is crushed and ground by teeth. It is the first step of digestion, and it increases the surface area of foods to allow a more efficient break down by enzymes. During the mastication process, the food is positioned by the cheek and tongue between the teeth for grinding. The muscles of mastication move the jaws to bring the teeth into intermittent contact, repeatedly occluding and opening.
